Lav Mrenović
Independent arts and culture writer & curator
Based in Belgrade, Serbia
My main interests revolve around the topics of the globalization of contemporary art, structural inequalities in the art world, and post-internet art. Recently, I’m focused on expanded forms of art writing — blending with fiction, essay, and the colloquial language of social media.
I hold BA degree, and I am a MA candidate, at the History of Art department at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade. My BA thesis dealt with the political potential of contemporary painting, while my MA thesis researches the influence of the globalized contemporary art world on Belgrade’s scene.
I’m a member of AICA (International Association of Art Critics).
